- Using a cellular-enabled mobile device (not Wi-Fi only) will generally support accuracy within no more than 5 meters of HDOP (Horizontal Dilution of Precision). More advanced devices typically can deliver under 3 meters of HDOP.
- Pairing a GNSS device with your mobile device can dramatically improve accuracy. High quality GNSS devices such as an Eos Arrow Gold+ can deliver up to GPS accuracy of 9.4 inches with minimal adjustment by the end user.
- Other factors that can affect accuracy if GNSS is not used: tree cover, close proximity to concrete buildings, close proximity to vehicles, magnetic device covers, minimal satellites in site of internal GPS.
- Accuracy of data can be measured at two times in the lifecycle of the data: at the time of collection and at the time of viewing in the field. If the data was originally collected with minimum GNSS use, it is possible the data will appear inaccurately when viewed later, whether viewed with a GNSS device or not.
